Would you like to work in an exciting and critical role within maritime services? We currently have a vacancy for a Sting Ray Mod1 System Design Authority at a site in Broad Oak.

As a Sting Ray Mod1 System Design Authority, you will be the lead system design authority for the Sting Ray Mod 1 Torpedo and its test & support equipment to the UK TCC programme and Norway manufacturing, covering all aspects of manufacture, assembly, trials usage and in-service support.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for the Design and Safety of the Sting Ray Torpedo System & Spearfish Mod 0 Test Equipment.

Your main responsibilities as a Sting Ray Mod1 System Design Authority will involve:

• Accountable for the Design and Safety of the Sting Ray Torpedo System & Spearfish Mod 0 Test Equipment
• Providing Project System Design and Engineering leadership, managing the core Project Engineering team of 2 direct reports
• Co-ordinating activities and support with other Engineering and Business functions such as Safety, Software, DO, Planning, Handbooks, Configuration Management, Standards Control, PA, Quality, Supplier Management, ILS/ARM and Procurement
• Providing a point of contact for Manufacturing and Munitions Depot queries, directing all necessary investigations and corrective actions
• Providing a point of contact for MoD enquiries, authorised to issue formal technical advice and responses for the Company
• Approving and authorising engineering Designs, Changes, Tasks and Concession actions
• Vetting, approving and authorising Project Engineering documentation. Acts as the Company Technical Representative at off-site investigations/trials and is empowered to direct work and make all relevant Engineering decisions as required
• Supporting the Company strategy in the field of Engineering and Design Management
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with the Design Approved Organisation Scheme (DAOS)
• Providing the point of contact as System Design Authority for legacy Sting Ray Mod 0 queries
