Job description

All Deck Operative personnel will be capable of carrying out the basic techniques in a safe manner using a mix of skills that have been learned during training, and developed as experience is gained to carry out the primary role.
 
We are looking for a Self-motivated and able to work with the minimum of supervision being 100% committed to team involvement, information sharing and mutual support.  Work with a heightened awareness of HSEQ. 

Further requirements are pride in his own work, being open minded, the ability to overcome problems and deliver solutions’ that may occur with plant and equipment  

An individual who applies commitment and motivation with an enthusiasm to being part of a team.  The ability to develop multi-task skill levels.  These skills based not only on strong traditional hands-on technical abilities, but on the development, review and implementation of performance and efficiency measures including equipment and worksite activity.

Tasks And Responsibilities As Core Crew Deck Operative:

  • Attending pre-mobilisation safety brief with base management
  • Arriving at the work site at the pre-arranged time
  • Notifying base management at the earliest opportunity of any condition or situation that may prevent
    them from mobilising to the worksite
  • Following the instructions of the nominated team leader and / or safety supervisor
  • Being fully conversant with the Stork task related procedures
  • Reporting all accidents, incidents & near misses to line supervision immediately
  • Conducting daily functionality checks on equipment
  • Ensuring the safety of colleagues by undertaking “buddy checks”
  • Bringing incidents of un-safe working practices to the attention of the nominated supervision
  • Conducting themselves in a safe, responsible and professional manner
  • Not misusing or mistreating company or 3rd party equipment
  • Being environmentally aware and reporting any infringements of the company health, safety, environmental and quality policies to the nominated supervision
  • Provide services to support construction/maintenance activities on various job sites
  • Shall be qualified in procedures through proof of training and experience
  • Participate in all pre-job "Tool Box Talks"
  • Wear proper PPE according to safety procedures

Core Training Requirements:
 

  • Stork Core HSEQ Training
  • OPITO Banksman & Slinging Operations Stage 1 (working towards 3)
  • Helideck Fire ERT
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness
  • Radio Telephony CAA
  • VHF restricted Radio
  • Manual handling

 
Skills, Understanding & Knowledge:
 
Essential:

  • 3 years’ experience
  • OPITO Log Book with continued updates
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Motivated Team Member
  • Good Housekeeping Standards
  • Good Hazard Identification Skills

Desirable:

  • OPITO Banksman/Slinging Stage 3 or 4
  • LOLER awareness training
  • Lifting Operations Planning & Risk Assessment Training
     
    Compliance:
     
  • Be actively involved and contribute to completing an onsite Task Based Risk Assessment which identifies additional risks or hazards involved in the workscope prior to work commencing.
  • Ensuring they are working under the correct valid permits and the associated paper work is in place prior to work commencing.
  • Be actively involved in the onsite daily tool box talk confirm that they understand what the workscope involves and be aware if there any changes to the work or worksite.
  • Ensure all equipment has been fully safety checked, function test of plant equipment prior to use.
  • As a minimum donot startworkuntil satisfied all of the above is in place
  • If in doubt ask Supervisor
  • Knowledge of Client and Stork procedures, Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Stork HSEQ/OPS Procedures.
  • Quality, safety and environmental plans.
  • Knowledge that everyone has authority to stop action likely to result in an incident, injury or serious loss.
