Project Engineer

Estimating and Commercial Project Engineer – Devon – Permanent – £30,000-£35,000
Navis Consulting are recruiting for a Project Engineer with a specific emphasis on commerce. You will report directly to the Head of Projects, Commercial Development Manager and Group Business Manager working alongside contracts and delivering projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implementing a sound commercial strategy from project inception to completion
• Ensuring costs are controlled to (estimated) budget
• Support the CDM and Project Engineers in the planning and implementing in managing projects efficiently and profitably keeping an eye on Project finances and contractual relationships
• Build and maintain working relationships with contractors, sub-contractors and the clients throughout the project
• Assist CDM with contract and client management during delivery
• Assist in overseeing the company needs, handle daily business issues and recognise business opportunities and repeat business
• Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring the assigned projects
• Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 for QHSE within the company and projects throughout the UK
• Handle site coordination and risks
• Prepare tender and contract documents
• Ensure that a safe working environment (QHSE standards) are upheld throughout the company
• Manage cost on bids/contracts, undertake cost analysis, negotiate best prices

Qualifications / Experience Required:

• Detailed knowledge of contracts including marine contracts i.e. BIMCO
• Proven experience in running multiple projects and in delivering challenging projects
• A degree or similar in Construction, Engineering or Mathematics related discipline
• Experience dealing with contractual and legal matters
• Extensive experience is required with Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
• Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to multi task
• Experience within the civil, structural or marine engineering would be ideal
• Seamanship or boat handling experience is desired
• Valid driving license
• Working knowledge of tide tables, tidal stream atlases and navigational charts is desired
