Fleet Technical Assistant – (Southampton)

Fleet Technical Assistant – Permanent – Southampton – £32k plus bonus & benefits

This is an excellent opportunity to join a reputable shipping company based in Southampton.

The purpose of this role is to Provide high level of administrative and Technical support to fleet management department.

Responsibilities include;

• To comply with and assist with administration of the company safety management system by collation and distribution of information and documentation control.
• To support ship and marine managers in their duties related to management of the company vessels and shore administration associated with that
• To be responsible for the supervision / administration of the marine stores including control of stock therein in association with contracted warehouse managers
• Assist ship managers with routine fleet administration including, but not limited to, raising of Purchase Orders, managing records and documents , dealing with sub-contractors , assisting with vessel inspections and vessel planned maintenance and control of vessel budgets etc.
• To assist with and contribute to specific Technical / Marine / Admin projects as directed by Tech. Ops Manager

Experience Required:

• Marine engineering certificate of competency or similar / equivalent degree standard.
• Demonstrate openness to change, flexibility and adaptability
• Must have a good telephone manner and be able to interact well within team environment
• Be prepared to learn all aspects of Marine engineering and Naval Architecture to allow for efficient ship management capability
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products to include Excel, Word and Outlook
