Service Engineer

I have a position available for a Service Engineer to join a marine company in South Yorkshire. With equipment on many of the world’s major ship operators vessels,  you will be travelling internationally and answering queries relating to installation, calibrations, surveys, services, commissioning, fault finding and repair of equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform calibrations of portable gas detection units
• Supply accurate records and information to the Head Office
• Conduct vessel surveys
• Provide detailed drawings, installation reports and method statements
• Respond to all customers’ enquiries within 24 hours
• Inform the After Sales team of all customer enquiries
• Process returns
• Support the project engineer team when needed
• Any other duties required by this position

Requirements:

• Basic Electrical Engineering qualifications
• Experience in instrumentation, calibrations and low voltage (12V - 24V)
• Excellent organisation and planning skills
• Be able to travel extensively at short notice (this may be 10-20 days per month once fully trained)
• Be available 7 days a week due to movements of ships
