Job Description Scaffolding Design Engineer with Stork:

This role requires interaction with internal colleagues of various levels, external parties and clients within the offshore/onshore industry. They are expected to support Stork operations in respect of supplying scaffolding technical details (Drawings, Calculations, Verifications, Material Take-offs and Man Hour Estimations/Material Tonnages) as per requested.
The key attributes of this role are to build strong relationships across the business. The ability to multi-task, strong attention to detail and a structured and resourceful way of working is essential.

Tasks And Responsibilities As Scaffolding Design Engineer:
Drawings

  • Compile Drawings in compliance with TG20 (British Standards for Tube and Fitting Constructed Scaffolds) and Manufacturers Technical Specifications.
  • Drawings supported by corresponding calculations/verification
  • Compilation of Material Take-offs for each drawing as required
  • Forecast provision of estimated man hours

Calculations / Verification

  • Calculations made in accordance with TG20 (British Standards for Tube and Fitting Constructed Scaffolds) and Manufacturers Technical Specifications.
  • Critical Load Path analysis assessed throughout drawings

Material Take-Off

  • Materials required to construct corresponding drawings is identified as listed within provided material take-off (Conventional / System).
  • Awareness of Scaffolding components on all drawings (Conventional / System)

Estimations

  • Accurate scaffolding man hours (erection / dismantling) corresponding to scaffolding drawing.
  • Providing total Tonnage of required material to construct design scaffold.

HSEQ

  • Attend & contribute to health and safety training and briefs.
  • Assist in maintaining own and others’ health and safety.
  • Contribute to a culture of HSEQ improvement.
  • Support quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Execute work safely and reliably and to a quality standard.
  • Ensure you are adequately trained to carry out the job.

Specific Requirements For Scaffolding Design Engineer:

Education

Essential:

  • �Minimum of HND in Mechanical Engineering (or Equivalent); or demonstrable expereince of working in the Scaffolding industry.

Desirable:

  • � Bachelors or Masters degree

Experience:

Essential:

  • � Understanding of Mechanical Engineering (e.g. Critical Load Path Analysis)

Desirable:

  • � Mechanical Engineering background or Equivalent.
