Job Description Inspection Work Preparer with Stork:

Preparation of preventive & corrective maintenance routines for offshore execution, production of high quality work packs with consideration for time, resources, materials, equipment, tools aligned with company HSEQ policies and procedures.
 
Tasks and Responsibilities as Inspection Work Preparer:

  • Diagnoses the cause of the problem
  • Determines the scope of activity required to return the equipment back into service
  • Packages the work with the tasks, disciplines, materials and services to effectively complete the work
  • Maintains an overview of the date constraints continually to ensure work is scheduled when there are resources and access available.
  • Understands prioritisation of work to allow appropriate timing and efforts to prepare
  • Identifies Shutdown requirements
  • Creates requisitions for materials
  • Identifies parts are correct on receipt onshore / offshore and set work to executable in CMMS
  • Compiles task lists in SAP
  • Performs de facto risk assessments
  • Visits worksite to identify safety precautions
  • Visits worksite to identify access requirements
  • Creates permits to work (potentially)
  • Receives feedback from techs on quality of preparation
  • Liaises with scheduler / trade supervisor
  • Consults with supply chain for resource requirements
  • Liaises with offshore / onshore stores to locate/store materials
  • Creation of fabrication requests
  • Support continuous Improvement initiatives & adopt drive best practice
  • Implement Innovative equipment and work processes to reduce risk /work at site or offshore; i.e. Hot Work
  • Make field inspections to determine appropriate scope of work.
  • Develop work pack for maintenance jobs with necessary information to allow efficient scheduling, assignment and execution of maintenance work.
  • Create, use and maintain technical files to include information in current work pack and to anticipate and avoid job delays.
  • Evaluate work pack feedback to improve future work.
  • Keep up to date with safety rules and regulations.
  • Utilise SAP and other computer applications to support the maintenance function.
  • Provide technical assistance as required for maintenance personnel.
  • Cost ownership – challenge cost and contract value

Job requirements

Requirements for Inspection Work Preparer:

The Maintenance Work Preparer role will likely be discipline specific, i.e. with a core competency in mechanical, electrical or instruments. As the person who diagnoses the problem and determines the scope of the solution, this person is expected to be highly respected and competent in their discipline or a trainee looking to develop into the role.
 
The maintenance work preparer should have:
 

  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment in the maintenance of oil and gas exploration equipment
  • Knowledge of the modes of failure applicable to discipline
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments
  • High skill in applying technical knowledge to determine equipment problems (including knowledge of RCA techniques and their applicability) and identifying appropriate solutions in order to swiftly develop work packs
  • Skill in reading, interpreting and applying information from files, drawings, catalogues, reports and manuals
  • Skill in communicating clearly and concisely in verbal and written form
  • Skill in using SAP to prepare work packages and monitor materials availability
  • The ability to maintain effective working relationships with other personnel including operators, vendors, contractors, subordinates, peers and superiors.
  • Experienced in holding activity collaboration and scheduling sessions 

Specific Requirements for Inspection Work Preparer:

  • Working towards an Industry based discipline qualification such as mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, static or rotating and/or
  • Time served in an industry based discipline (minimum 2 years in role)
  • Where the role does not directly align to a trade discipline, such as inspection the client should provide the specific list of competence requirements. For the trainee role this would form part of a structured development plan.
  • Risk assessment training
  • Working towards – Basic training in contracting and procurement
