Job Description Occ Health Nurse Advisor with Stork:

Provide professional occupational health support and advice to Stork and to ensure that effective health surveillance and health promotion is in place and that effective process and procedures are developed and maintained.
 
Tasks And Responsibilities As Occ Health Nurse Advisor:

Health Screening

  • Monitor employee’s health and maintain effective records to ensure that health screening is conducted where appropriate.
  • Conducting health screening assessments on employees which will include:-
  • Employment Medical Fitness screening
    • Fitness assessments
    • Skin Screening / Surveillance
    • HAVS screening
    • Pre Placement Medical Questionnaire review
    • Drug screening
    • Benzene / Mercury biological screening
    • Advice on Medications in relation to work
    • Providing certification for the above
  • Advising on International Travel Health
  • Participate in the development of policies and procedures to ensure that effective health screening and monitoring takes place

Health Promotion

  • Develop and participate in the delivery of workplace Health Promotion and Health Enhancement strategies which include:
  • Delivering short seminars on topics including smoking cessation, sensible alcohol consumption, stress and mental health.
  • Providing and developing mini workplace health and lifestyle health assessments.
  • Provision of information on key health priorities for display throughout the company sites.

Risk Assessment

  • Contribute to the promotion of a safe working environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments; including:
    • Expectant Mother Risk assessments
    • Travel;/international mobilisations
  • Attend and contribute to company and Client Health and Safety meetings as required
    Sickness Absence
  • Support the use of the company sickness absence policy and promote a good level of attendance.
  • Provide advice on the management of sickness absence.
  • Provide advice on the management of successful transitional return to work programmes and rehabilitation.
  • Support employees in returning to work and advise on reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
  • Work with external Occupational Health Advisors and appropriate stakeholders to promote a good level of attendance.

Requirements For Occ Health Nurse Advisor:

Specific Requirements For Occ Health Nurse Advisor:

Education

  • Qualified Nurse Practitioner
  • Ideally in possession of an Occupational Health qualification or a willingness to pursue this.
  • Trained Risk/COSHH/ DSE Assessor

Experience

  • Previous experience of working within an occupational health setting.
  • Experience of providing occupational health support and advice within either the construction or energy industry, including Oil & Gas would be advantageous.
