Tasks And Responsibilities As Intern:

Acheive outputs from two studies:

• An Market analysis of the Heat Treatment Business in the context of our business
  • Global Competitor analysis by continent for each of our industrial Business Sectors (Oil and Gas Platforms, Refineries, Chemical Processing, Power Stations, Iron/Steel Processing Plants, Aero Materials and component plants, Ship Yards, Pipeline transportation systems  with a map by continent of where they are located in each region.
  • Global Identification of these customer plants locations and types
  • Overlay of the Cooper Heat/Stork/Fluor organization by service type on same map.
  • Market drivers analysis
  • Planned developments for each sector
  • New plants/facilities to be built

• A Process and product engineering study to enable us to semi automate the plant
  • Value Stream map the current process
  • Make a string diagram of the process flow of the current plant by product type
  • Make a new process flow layout proposal
  • Evaluate and propose a new process which will be semi automatic and reduce manufacturing cost by 50%
  • Carry out and propose a Make or buy
  • Insource opportunities for strategic components and potential cost reduction.
