Job Description For Project Engineer – Caisson Management
 
To provide operational and technical project engineering expetise in support of the delivery of the Caisson Management team and wider Stork Business Objectives.

Tasks And Responsibilities As

  • Working across a range of Caisson Management projects of varying size and complexity.
  • The level of complexity of the role can vary from the project engineering of small caisson scopes through to the project engineering of multiple caisson repair scopes happening on the platform back to back.
  • Has authorisation to approve material requistions representing a value to £1000.
  • Typically reports operational into the Project Manager / Product Line Manager.
  • Has Site Supervisor reporting operationally, when required as as part of the assigned project.
  • Has no direct or hierachal reports. 

Scope Definition: 

  • Understnad and agree caisson management work-scopes with the client
  • Define a technical solution for caisson management work-scopes
  • Compile estimates for caisson management work-scopes
  • Liase with 3rd party vendors 
     
    HSEQ 
  • Awareness of HSEQ regulations, requirements and legislation
  • Compliance with company HSEQ policies and procedures
  • Specific knowledge and experience of
    • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
    • Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
    • Task Based Risk Assessment (TBRA)
    • Occupational Health
  • Assist the project manager during incidents and accidents, including reporting and investigation.
  • Support Quality, Efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Support continous improvement and act on lessons learned
  • Assist with the tracking of all the risk management processes. 

People Management 

  • Assist the project mangaer to ensure the training and competency processes are adhered to.
  • Ensure the comptence of the manpower assigned to the project meets the scope requirements. 

Work Pack 

  • Compile an accurate method statement compliant with the appropriate standards and specifications to determine how the scope shoud be carried out.
  • Collate information from other technical disciplines to develop the work pack/instruction.
  • Define the materials, plant, equipment and consumables required to excute the work
  • Define the disciplines and level of competence required to execute the work
  • Provide the information on risks and mitigation actions in general, and specifically with regards to the occupational heath. 

Planning 

  • Liaise with Stork planning and supplying departments and provide information on the activities that comprise the overall scope, including disciplines, levels of competence and duration fro the development of a planning schedule.
  • Ensure the required plant, equipment, PPE, consumables and materials are shipped on time and check that it is returned on time.
  • Liaise with the client planning department with regards to progress of the work-scope. 

Execution 

  • Carry out pre-mobilisation briefs to ensure personnel fully understand the scope of work
  • Remain involved in the pgoress and execution of the job and help resolve any technical and planning issues that may arise.

Education Essential:
 
GCSE or Higher Education and have complete and appropriate level of technical competence and working towards an HND in a relevant field.
 
Experience Essential:
 
Experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas Industry
