Job Description HVACR Commissioning Engineer with Stork:

To perform all required discipline tasks, safely, consistently and in accordance with project requirements, procedures and specifications. Read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the work scope is completed safely and to a high standard.
Complete all work scope in accordance with applicable work pack / job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches.
HVACR Commissioning Engineers repair, install and troubleshoot refrigeration systems, usually industrial climate-control systems, such as HVAC units. Refrigeration Technicians also perform preventative maintenance in order to avoid future problems or breakdowns. HVACR Commissioning Engineers are generally able to work on mechanical and electrical components of these systems, though some may be trained to specialize in either of these areas.
Tasks And Responsibilities As HVACR Commissioning Engineer:

  • To deliver a high quality, consistent and competent commissioning and construction service in accordance with project / company requirements, standards and procedures.
  • Be conversant with International, European and British standards for all aspect of HVAC and Refrigeration commissioning as well as CiBSE and ASHRAE guidelines.
  • To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule.
  • To ensure all that all work scope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and overhauls equipment such as AHU's, Fans, Fire Dampers, Volume Control Dampers etc.
  • Install and replace all types of HVAC equipment according to prints, specifications, diagrams, or other instructions.
  • Reads gauges and instruments and adjust mechanisms such as dampers, controls and VSD's to control air changes, flow rates and pressure distribution for a ventilation system.
  • Carry out performance assurance testing to ensure that actual performance of a ventilation system can be compared to the original design.
  • Prepares part lists and method statements for repairs and installation of equipment.
  • Coordinates work schedules with other departments and shops in order to keep inconvenience to a minimum.
  • Attending pre-mobilisation safety brief with base management
  • Arriving at the work site at the pre-arranged time
  • Notifying base management at the earliest opportunity of any condition or situation that may prevent them from mobilising to the worksite
  • Following the instructions of the nominated team leader and / or safety supervisor
  • Being fully conversant with the Stork task related procedures
  • Reporting all accidents, incidents & near misses to line supervision immediately
  • Conducting daily functionality checks on equipment
  • Bringing incidents of un-safe working practices to the attention of the nominated supervision
  • Being environmentally aware and reporting any infringements of the company health, safety, environmental and quality policies to the nominated supervision
  • Shall be qualified in HVACR procedures through proof of training and experience
  • Participate in all pre-job "Tool Box Talks"
  • Wear proper PPE according to safety procedures

Specific Requirements For HVACR Commissioning Engineer:

  • Suitable Apprenticeship In HVAC or Refrigeration (Essential)
  • NVQ/SVQ level 3 refrigeration and AC or equivalent. (Essential)
  • C&G 2079 level 2 cat 1. F Gas Regulations (Essential)
  • ECITB SBT01 Stage 1 Assemble and Install Small Bore Tubing with Twin Ferrule Mechanical Grip Fittings (Essential)
  • P601 Local exhaust ventilation Examination (Essential)
  • CompEx Modules 1-4 (Essential)
  • IEE 17th Edition wiring regulations (Desirable)
  • Commissioning Specialist Association Grade 3 or above (Desirable)
