Job description
Tasks And Responsibilities As Scaffolding Manager:
Product Line Strategy and Plans
- Support the implementation of specific Product Line(s) strategy within the UK&A Organisation functional objectives.
- Ensure delivery of key business drivers (HSE, Profitability, Quality, Efficiency) for their Product Line within function and in alignment with client contract specifics.
- Engage with and provide direction to all product line team members under their direct reports.
- Communicate plans and objectives with various management levels.
Business planning and reporting
- Develop annual Product Line budgets in alignment with strategic plans.
- Ensure execution of the plan after approval by UK&A Business Board.
- Monitor and report on performance against plan, make changes/corrective actions as required, evaluate results against plan.
- Ensure regular review and reporting of progress in realisation of strategic plans, business plans and financial results.
Business Development
- Identify, investigate and negotiate new business opportunities, including enhancement and extension of existing contracts.
- Build strong relationships with standalone customers to enhance Product Line sales.
- Work with the key account teams, who will identify and deliver the main customer base, maximising opportunities for their Product Line(s) within their customer organisations.
Business Unit Management
- Ensure that effective use is made of business/operational management systems required to enable the service delivery operations to be managed, controlled and reported on.
- Ensure effective collaboration and co-operation between functional disciplines, within scope of remit, across matrix organisation, in order to achieve effective implementation of the business strategy.
- Manage the operations of their Product Line Areas/Markets and business functions within UK&A organisation.
- Deliver technical resources and solutions to facilitate and support UK and Africa growth in the identified market sectors.
Staff management and performance
- Ensure that there is sufficient and competent resources to satisfy on-going project demand.
- Lead, manage and develop business unit staff within corporate and UK&A HR strategy and policies.
- Ensure that technical knowledge is retained and developed within team.
- Ensure that P&D’s are maintained.
HSEQ
- Attend & contribute to health and safety training and briefs.
- Assist in maintaining own and others’ health and safety.
- Contribute to a culture of HSEQ improvement.
- Support quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Execute work safely and reliably and to a quality standard.
- Ensure you are adequately trained to carry out the job.
Stakeholder Management & Networking
- Maintain extensive network of internal contacts, engage and integrate the needs of all stakeholder groups in the prioritization, review and delivery of business results.
- Build, co-ordinate and maintain effective positive relationships with key clients, aimed towards the extension of Stork’s network and partnerships.
- Build, co-ordinate and maintain high level relationships with key suppliers, aimed towards the extension of Stork’s network and partnerships.
- Build and maintain a network with relevant authorities in Delivery and across UK&A.
- Ensure the exchange of best practice and continuous improvement across the UK&A and Stork business areas.
- Participate in the development of new and innovative technologies which will enhance the service delivery capability of the Company.

Specific Requirements For Scaffolding Manager:
Confident and experienced in client interaction skills and must be a team player showing flexibility. Ideally, this person will have a minimum of 10 years supervisor/ technical experience, demonstrating broad managerial strengths. In addition, the successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge and confidence in offering Scaffolding Specifications to provide longevity and cost management of Fabric Maintenance services. The preferred training and competence would be as per the following, either on an achieved or working towards basis:
- Fabric maintenance and Insulation experience is desirable
- Support and contribute to Reach Beyond Zero (HSSEQ)
- Have extensive knowledge of CISRS & NASC and possess a detailed understanding of legislative and scaffolding industry “best practice” standards
- Support Proposals with any Tenders and associated clarifications
- Update governance and operational Procedures as required to meet business and legislative needs
- Follow & implement Management of Change Process, as identified, for both Technical and Operational functions
- “Authority” in Innovations, System, & Traditional Scaffold
- Lead on maintenance and development of scaffolding IT applications for tracking scaffolding, invoicing & quantities
- Manage and develop Scaffold Design Team
- Influence, manage and support in functions relating to contract leakage, Contracts, Supply Chain & Scaffolding Yard
- Support Procurement to ensure that related processes are in accordance with corporate compliance standards and procedures
- Strategic planning, marketing and business development, ensuring opportunities are identified and risks mitigated
- Responsibilities for P&L and overhead financial management of the assigned departments
- Offshore experience is desirable but not required
