Job Description for Equipment Sales Engineer with Stork:

This role provides technical input for Cooperheat equipment sales quotes acting as a technical sales interface between the Company and its clients. Advises customers on technical specifications and individual requirements.
The roles support the Business Development Manager and the wider Sales function through the provision of technical expertise, customer relationship management, quotations, orders and database integrity.

Tasks And Responsibilities As Equipment Sales Engineer:

The creation and provision of technical quotations

  • Processes plant equipment orders, especially those where client requires advice on equipment selection;
  • Ensures that all open quotations are chased and updated on the CRM system in a timely manner;
  • Deals with selected major customer accounts, countries and regions;
  • Provides detailed technical expertise to clients and internal colleagues.

Technical expertise

  • Provides technical solutions to customers individual technical requirements;

Assists non-technical colleagues and customers as required;

  • Keeps up to date with products, competitors and relevant legislation;
  • Under instruction from the BDM, engages in business development related activity.

Maintains integrity of operational databases

  • Administers information within CRM databases to ensure customer contacts, details, quotes and orders are accurately reflected;
  • Proactively seeks to confirm details for existing and potential customers supporting retention whilst providing opportunities for business development within new or dormant client organisations;
  • Ensures information is stored, managed and utilised in accordance with Company and legislative policy.

Compliance

  • Ensures compliance with Stork’s Code of Business Principles at all times;
  • Ensures all sales comply with Stork and regulatory export control requirements;
  • Maintains compliance with known consignor (aviation) rules.

Remains flexible to the needs of the business

  • Undertakes reasonable ad-hoc or routine duties as directed by line manager.

Specific Requirements For Equipment Sales Engineer:
 
Education

  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent);
  • City and Guilds Electrical Installation Parts 1 and 2 (desirable);
  • Level 2 NVQ Customer Care (or willingness to work towards).

Experience

  • Evident practical experience of localised heat treatment;
  • Extensive knowledge of heat treatment applications and systems;
  • Demonstrable senior sales experience, ideally within a global environment;
  • Strong, confident communication (verbal and written) skills;
  • Experienced in providing technical sales presentations to a variety of customers;
  • Ability to deliver operator training courses.
