Job Description Blaster/Sprayer Category 2 with Stork:
The position held within Stork Environmental and Decontamination Services division is to provide competent persons responsible for surface preparation and coating applications at various offshore and onshore sites as instructed per client’s specification. Part of their duties is to ensure that plant and equipment is maintained on a regular and daily basis throughout the workscope duration also general and specialised support as part of a specialist cleaning crew mobilised for all specialist cleaning services provided. Also being responsible to ensure that plant and equipment is maintained on a regular and daily basis throughout the workscope duration, being a key member as part of the team to deliver an exceptional high standard of work.
Tasks And Responsibilities As Blaster/Sprayer Category 2:
- Contribute to health, safety and environmental quality
- Set up & test all relevant plant and equipment
- Protect adjacent surfaces & the environment
- Degrease & prepare surfaces using power tools and abrasive blasting methods
- Carry out required quality control checks
- Apply coatings with paint spray units, brush & roller as required per task
- To carry out all work activities relating to NORM removal and disposal in accordance with the local rules
- To assist in and perform as part of a team during worksite establishment and maintenance
- Ensure all cleaning activities using chemicals are carried out within COSHH regulations
- Ensure that at the end of every shift the worksite is tidied to leave the site in a safe and tidy condition
- To inform the supervisor as soon as possible of any defects, broken or missing equipment
- To be proactive in and fully assist as part of a team in all aspects of specialist cleaning projects
- To be proactive in the rotational duties of the crew when carrying out UHP water jetting operations
