Pre/Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) Technicians

Job description

PWHT technicians control the heating and cooling cycles of components and materials for use in the Power Generation, Petrochemical, Chemical, Mining, Oil & Gas and Aerospace industries.
 
The two main applications for achieving PWHT are Electric & Gas; PWHT technicians will be trained to a high standard in both of these methods.

We are looking for Individuals that possess;

• The ability to work independently on-site
• Good communication skills
• Customer focused
• Computer literate and demonstrate high communication skills
• Strong Safety awareness and discipline
• Set up and monitor electric Pre Heating and PWHT
• Ability to assist in the set up and monitoring of gas PWHT
• PWHT technicians need good eyesight, and the ability to concentrate over long periods
• good understanding of English and Mathematics is required as work involves controlling heating / cooling rates, compiling written reports, working with figures (time v temperature rates) and understanding technical words

Job requirements

Education and working experience

• Several years’ experience in similar role within the heat treatment industry
• Computer literate and demonstrate high communication skills
