Commercial Trainee

We are looking for a energetic, forward thinking and entrepreneurial individual with experience or an interest in the shipping industry.

You must have the right to work within the USA. The role will start in August 2018 with a 2 week training course in Oslo.

The Client

Our Client is a multi national commercial operator within the dry bulk shipping market. They have a fleet in excess of 140 vessels and are extremely successful.

Operating out of 5 offices worldwide including Singapore, Norway and the USA. They combine a strong commercial culture, experience built through a number of years and analytical methods to deliver flexible high quality services to their freight customers.

The company has a flat structure and is focused on investing in it's people to allow career progression.

The Role

Starting out in the Operation department learning vessel operations and chartering.In vessel operations trainees will learn to take on the responsibility of managing their own vessels.In 12 - 18 months candidates can progress into commercial chartering where trainees will learn to source and execute vessel and cargo contracts in the market, and over time to develop and execute trading strategies.Working in the Seattle office with 6 other team members.
