This essential STCW course is required for all officers and senior crew responsible for managing onboard fire emergencies. AFF builds on basic firefighting skills and prepares candidates to lead fire teams, conduct investigations, and coordinate emergency responses as part of their progression towards a Certificate of Competency.
Course Content:
- Advanced Fire Control & Command
Lead fire teams, manage communications, and make strategic decisions under pressure during onboard emergencies. - Live Fire & Breathing Apparatus Drills
Participate in demanding live-fire scenarios using breathing apparatus, hoses, nozzles, and rescue techniques. - Fire Investigation & Equipment Maintenance
Inspect and operate fixed installations, portable extinguishers, and fire detection systems. Learn to compile incident reports. - Tactics, Stability & Dangerous Goods
Understand fire suppression strategy, the impact on ship stability, and procedures for dealing with hazardous materials.
Delivered at our MCA-approved training facility in Phuket, this course complies with STCW A-VI/3.

Entry Requirements
Minimum age: 18 years
Valid Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (FPFF) certificate (STCW A-VI/1-2)
Certificate must be issued by a maritime authority from an IMO White List country
If FPFF is expired, candidates must first complete an FPFF Refresher Course before enrolling
