This internationally recognised course is mandatory for all crew working on yachts, commercial vessels, cruise ships, and tankers. It provides the core safety, survival, and emergency response training required to work legally at sea under the STCW Convention.

Course Content:

  • Personal Survival Techniques (A-VI/1-1)
    Learn survival skills at sea, including distress prevention, use of life-saving equipment, liferaft deployment, and SAR procedures.
  • Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting (A-VI/1-2)
    Practical training on fire hazards, extinguishing methods, and use of breathing apparatus in shipboard fire scenarios.
  • Elementary First Aid (A-VI/1-3)
    Basic first aid techniques and emergency response training for common medical incidents onboard.
  • Personal Safety & Social Responsibility (A-VI/1-4)
    Introduction to life at sea, safe working practices, and teamwork aboard merchant and private vessels.
  • Proficiency in Security Awareness (A-VI/6-1)
    Security training required for all crew on ISPS-compliant vessels. Covers threat recognition, unauthorised access, and onboard security roles.

Training takes place at our MCA-approved maritime training centre in Phuket.
