During STCW Basic Fire Fighting refresher course, the trainees practise extinguish fires by using extinguishers of several kinds. The trainees brush up on the operating principles of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and maintenance after use. In smoke filled enclosed spaces, the trainees practise applied extinguishing methods and search and rescue of victims.

Entry Requirements

At least 6 months sea time on merchant vessel during last 5 years
Good level of fitness
