Course description

The course is designed to meet STCW requirements for the application of leadership and teamwork skills, in accordance with the 2010 Manila Amendments, specifically as stated in tables A-ll/1, A-lll/1, and A-lll/6.

A leadership course is a course that aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills to lead and manage teams, operations, and resources on board ships, as well as to enhance your personal and professional development. It covers topics such as leadership styles and principles, communication and interpersonal skills, decision making and problem solving, conflict management and resolution, motivation and empowerment, time management and delegation, safety culture and risk management, and ethical and social responsibility.

Certification and approval

Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a certificate.

Delivery method

The course is delivered through an online learning platform and consists of lectures, quizzes and case studies.

Course objectives

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

4. STCW convention and code standards of competence specified in sections A-II/1 and 2, A-III/1, 2, & 6 regarding leadership skills
