Purpose:

The STCW course meets the requirements of the STCW Convention of Section VI / 3 and is based on the IMO Model 2.03 guidelines. The course provides advanced training for all seafarers.

Content:

  • Introduction and safety principles

  • Theory of fire

  • Fire control aboard ships

  • Ship firefighting organization

  • Training of seafarers in fire fighting

  • Procedures for fire fighting

  • Inspection and servicing of fire appliances and equipment

  • Firefighting process hazards

  • First aid

  • Fire investigation and reporting

  • Case studies

  • Review and final assessment

  • After successful completion of the course the trainees should have a better understanding of controlling firefighting operations aboard vessel, the effects of firefighting water on ship stability, organizing and training fire parties and investigating and compiling reports on incidents involving fire.

Conditions:

  • Basic safety on board - D2 brevet

Remark:

After successfully completing the course and exam at the Harbor Master's Office, candidates will receive a certificate (brevet) D12 - "Fire Extinguishing Management" issued by the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia.
