MCA as per the STCW Code section A-II/1 (officer in charge of a navigational watch) section A-III/1 (officer on charge of an engineering watch) section A-III/6 (electro-technical officer).
This three day course aims to raise awareness and understanding of the key human factors affecting seafarer’s behaviour whilst working on ships. This is achieved by teaching candidates the basic resource management, leadership and team working skills at operational level so that they can apply these ‘soft skills’ to operate at their levels.
The course is designed in line with the STCW Code Tables A-II/1, A-III/1 and A-III/6 and is a pre-requisite for operation level CoCs (OOW deck/engine and ETOs) and therefore must be undertaken before a CoC can be issued.
Upon successful completion of the course, all candidates are issued with STCW HELM Operational course certificate required for Certificate of Competency (CoC) operational level examinations for both deck and engineer officers.
