Job description
To perform all required discipline tasks, safely, consistently and in accordance with project requirements, procedures and specifications. Read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the work scope is completed safely and to a high standard. Complete all work scope in accordance with applicable work pack / job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches.
The first week is a deck op/rigger position which provides support to the platform shared services department. This position includes deck management, ensuring decks are kept clean, tidy and well maintained and carrying out HDA or HLO duties.
The 5th week LOLER Focal Point plans or approves all lifting operations in the workplace to ensure that the lifting operations are in compliance with LOLER regulations and company procedures. The LOLER Focal Point must have the theoretical knowledge and operational experience to select the appropriate lifting equipment to be used and plan how it should be used, determine the suitable levels of supervision for the lifting operations and be able to verify/manage the contents of the rigging loft or other equipment store.
Tasks & Responsibilities
– Support Supply Chain operations: including but not limited to, supply boat cargo/bulk operations, preparing backload and unloading containers
– Assist with ensuring that planned activites are managed in accordance with agree targets
– Carry out HDA/HLO activities
– Review and approve lifting operations, lifting plans and risk assessments
– Act as a technical authority on site and be able to develop effective lifting plans
– Determine suitable levels of Supervision for complex and complicated lifts in conjunction with site management
– Manage and allocate cranes on site on a daily basis
– Responsible for ensuring all personnel involved in lifting operations meet competence standards, including operation of forklift trucks
– Ensure all lifting equipment on site is fully certified
– Liase with onshore support and appropriate departments for effective planning of Lifting Operations, ensuring approvals in place where required.
– Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices
– Create, maintain & enhance effective working relations and identify and minimise interpersonal conflict
– Maintain effective communication with all work colleagues at all levels
– Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift change.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply it in the workplace.
